It's Week 3 of Cowabungust! But first, Zi-O is reaching the height of its stupid canon-breaking bullcrap and wehave some things to say about it. Next, Canalo hits on a dead girl and the show somehow starts approaching the semblance of a plot? Finally, we discuss TMNTIII: Turtles in Time, not to be confused with the much superior video game. But watching it with a fresh set of eyes, is it as good as we remember? Is it as bad as the hype? Somewhere in between possibly?
:O Five Casters? What is this nonsense? We come together for the second week of Cowabungust. First off, we discover Geiz's true feelings for Sougo while Dark Rider after Dark Rider works against the villain that summoned them. Next, we discuss how Link in Ryusoulger discovers how he's Gotta Think Fast. Finally, we discuss TMNTII: Secret of the Ooze, aka the movie most of us have the most nostalgic attachment to and quotable lines memorized from. With a fresh set of cognizant ears though, we pick up on a few things we didn't notice watching this movie as kids. Could Shredder have been a tragic figure all along?
Savage Caster Ibarafox, aka Tom, joins us in place of Gar this week as we begin the new theme month Cowabungust. Tom gives us his thoughts on Zi-O and Ryusoulger as we discuss the new flavor of bullshit Swartz is pulling, Eternal's cameo, and how Another Drive bits the dust, and then Sawa from Build goes IIYA as the Ryusoulgers try not to break any rules while Tyramigo is weirdly amazing. Finally, our first week of Cowabungust is the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Does it hold up as a shellshocker of a film?
Emily swaps out for Gar as we discuss the earth-shattering reveal of Soup's real name, Decade's objective, and the debut of Another Rider Drive and Decade, how Bamba got to stab something else this week, and for our feature topic, we catch up with Fourze and crew as they live out their new lives as Bleachigo and Friends. Is the Netflix Bleach movie a faithful adaptation?
Now that Zero-One has been revealed, Gar is catching up on Zi-O, and he comes at us with the startling statement that he likes Geiz! So Ichi sits him down and has a nice ol' chat to find out why before we get into the episode where Another Zi-O II gets kicked so hard the timeline re-breaks. We then have another Zi-O discussion giving our theories and hopes for the end of the show. Meanwhile on Ryusoulger, sand becomes out enemy once again. Finally, to celebrate the Area 51 memes, we discuss the live-action Ben 10 movie, which couldn't be more obviously made for TV.
It's just Ichi and Lane this week. We go into Zi-O's creaky, gun-pointing approach to its end in another episode that seems like a perfect miniature of the entire series thus far. Next, RyusoulGold tries to convince his zord to not be a racist asshole, while the totally actually underage girl hits on Melt and it is NOT OKAY. Finally, our feature topic is the first two episodes of Kamen Rider V3. How can Ichigo and Nigo possibly segue offstage for their successor? The answer may explode you and/or Tokyo!
It's episode 250 and Lane's not here! ...or is he? The remaining Casters are joined by some of our Discord fans over the course of the episode as we discuss Sougo getting de-throned, Canalo dealing with his thirsty yet non-legal sister, and the indescribable marvel of an ancient series that is Toei's Spiderman, er... SUPIDAMAN, sorry.
This week on Castranger the Core four talk about Zi-O battling the power of dead girlfriends, RyusoulGold's debut is marred by his quest for a wife, and then we get uncomfortable watching tween girls try to be mahoshojo phantom thieves.
We appear to have delayed talking about Heisei FOREVER to the perfect week, because the most recent episode of Zi-O was the start of the Den-O arc, so we get to talk about both versions of Another Den-O this week. The Core Four rage and squee at the return of Den-O, Zeronos, and most importantly DENEB! Meanwhile in Ryusoulger we get a weirdly dark episode that reeks of Highlander. Finally, we talk about what happens when Kamen Rider decides to take a page out of Toy Story. Wait, didn't Toy Story 4 just come out??
Castranger's Core Casters convene to complain about the last two weeks' episodes of Rider and Sentai. It's a Double Episode Special! The debut of Woz Ginga squeezes between the disappointing Kiva Arc and the question-raising Kabuto Arc. Meanwhile, Asuna struggles to have a focus episode, and then a quizmaster sets everyone on fire. I know, it sounds stupid without context, doesn't it?
