IWAE! Our first Castranger of 2019 and all four Cores are in store to discuss lore, with this catch-up Double Episode Special! First off, Zi-O and Geiz play Musical Belts, and Sougo catches Geiz's indecisive wishy-washyness when he gives up his belt then takes it back and apparently fucks up all time beyond recognition, resulting in the debut of our new boy, Kamen Rider Woz, who's here to kickass and write fanfics! We also celebrate the finale of the Hokan Keikaku! Translator's note: Keikaku means plan. ALSO in Lupinranger Vs Patranger, while everyone else is out dealing with goddamn chicken-hating salmon monsters, repeated abrupt train trips to France and back, and quiz dimensions, Keiichiro finally does the thing!! It's about goddamn time!!
Gar makes it home for Christmas as we bring you the last episode of 2018! We discuss just how god-awful of a character Geiz is, how awesome Kasshin is, and how Decade fucks shit up for everybody. Meanwhile, the Patos have a very meaningful but sad episode as we start to get the truth behind the show unveiled. It turned out France IS evil...? Finally, our feature topic is something heartwarming from all our childhoods: Alpha's Magical Christmas! Surely it isn't a twisted tale about a robot kidnapping children and forcing them to pump out manufactured holiday cheer?
The Core Four are here once more! Ichi shrieks his sick throat out trying to make sense of what Woz is up to, the actors realize what we did ages ago about Ghost, the red Rangers actually have a touching moment while Destra goes down like a champ, and finally we get to talk about the Go-Ongers 10 Years GP movie!
Ichi's less sick than last week so we're back again to discuss a bewilderingly confusing and also awesome at the same time episode of Zi-O, Destra tries to get his groove back, and then in the Lupin/Pato side specials, we meet the arguably better PatrenNigo, and Kairi and Keiichiro lern the ups and downs of sticking together, BY FORCE.
After taking a mental health break last week, we're back in full force! Well, except Ichi's sick, but that won't stop him from leading the charge right into a Double Episode Special! Blaze joins us for the wrapup of the Dan Kuroto OOO arc. Gar's around, technically, but hasn't watched anything so he kinda fucks off at the start. We discuss dethroning Dan, the amazing writer the show's had recently, and How Sougo Got His Groove Back Through Time. Over on the sentai side, a major plot detail was revealed about Zamigo, but it gets underplayed while shrimp missiles fly, and then we deal with Boaty McBoatFace the Kaijin who somehow caused an actually funny episode.
EDIT: Whoops put Gar in the rollcall instead of Blaze
Blaze joins us as we break free of Borgtober and get back to topics at hand. We discuss how Sougo seems to be fetishizing our memelord Dan Kuroto; how will poor Woz react? Next, some shrimp gets frozen to death and a snake boy gets bested by a plane from space that vomits a tank. Confusing without context, right? Finally, we get rid of all those nasty boys and have somegirl time in the LupinPato Girlfriends Army special. Could this be of relevance later in the show?
Emily is busy celebrating her birthday while the remaining three finish off Borgtober. First, we see the startings of Sougo's interesting personality surfacing while Geiz obtains his coolest form yet. Next, the Lupins and Patos camp out and miscommunicate their feeligns like every shoujo anime ever to avoid going home, and finally, we wrap up our viewign of Beetleborgs with a blatant and stupidly covered up actor change before Nukus shows up and teamkills the villains.
Week three of Borgtober is here! We discuss how Geiz tries to kill Skeith while Zi-O stupidly tries to assume the best like a good wittle pwotagonist, and then the show dumps all its deleted scenes on us. This week's Patranger gives us more amazing Keiichiro anger and development, and then we wrap up the amazing arc of the Shadow and White Beetleborgs.
Blaze joins the core Four this week as we start getting to the goodstuff in this second week of Borgtober, our month of Big Bad Beetleborgs. But first, the line between 4 and 5 blends as we discuss this zombie-filled second half of Zi-O's Fourze/Faiz arc as well as why the two shows might be more related than we thought, and then Kogure illustrates how if we can't handle him at his worst, we don't deserve him at his best. Finally, for this week's Borgtober, we discuss the creation of the Shadowborg and the WHITE... Blaster Beetleborg!
