Emily and Tom are back! We all gather around the almost-Christmas hearth and discuss another week of toku, including how Kamen Rider Ikazuchis debut takes the show by storm, the mystery of why Tyramigo almost eats a child, and can Kyoryuger Brave possibly end on a good note? Why do I think the Casters might have to brawl over this one?
Gar and Emily are back with us this week as we discuss Shining Hopper getting on Aruto's level, RyusoulGreen being held hostage by a potential girlfriend, and BraveKyoryuGold fighting good and/or evil with the power of his glowing dino-hickey.
It's a bag of mixed emotions this week as we're happy to have Zero-One back, Ryusoulger comes from the horizon with a clothesline to our hearts, and because we're all in a hurry to get back to Pokemon Sword & Shield, we cram three really short feature topics into one episode.
With our room full of friends (minus Lane) we fill the gaps in the airing schedule and our hearts with a few other shows. First off, we attempt to give Kyoryuger Brave another chance. Can the appearance of BraveKyoryuGold keep the momentum of this show going? Next, we discuss the first episode of Power Rangers Beast Morphers, a show with a shocking amount of promise to it. Finally, we move onto the second episode of Tokusatsu Gagaga, which captures our hearts once again with its relatability and charming protagonists.
Casters Present: Blue Yellow Dream SavageNorth Doom
Stage Caster Thespian joins us to talk about this weirdly musical episode of LuPat. This week's Build leaves a robot-shaped hole in our hearts in more ways than one. Our feature topic is a couple more episodes of Kyoryuger Brave. Why? Because fuck it.
As Raven bails and we continue to exist somehow in a world where we can only hear Dream Caster in our hearts due to technical difficulties, the remaining Casters trodge on as we discuss this week's episodes. First, we discuss how Sento and Gentoku bond over their daddy issues, then we talk about Noel continuing his bullet train-paced introduction arc, and finally or feature topic is Kyoryuger's bonus episode, made for the fans and starring fans.
Red and Orange Casters beam in via Discord once more as we discuss the amazing new dynamic that is Shin Dan Kuroto and Genmu Level 0's proper acclimatization to the team, how the Kyurangers became Phantom Thieves, how previous-Dan completed his Rider/Namco gashat collection, and what's been happening with our old pals Torin, Candelira, and Luckyuro?!
Casters Present: RedBluePinkYellowOrange
Required Viewing: Kamen Rider Ex-Aid 31, Uchuu Sentai Kyuranger 14, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid [Urawaza]: Kamen Rider Genmu 3, Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave 1 (aka Power Rangers Dino Force Brave 1)
The full six-man team comes together. Lots of news this week. We argue quite divisively about Kamen Rider Chaser's fully revealed suit. Drive Type High Speed becomes a gentleman, the identity of ToQ-7gou is ACTUALLY revealed, quite to our surprise, as well as the identity of Starninger, and three veterans cameo on Ninninger soon.
We then talk about this week's episodes: Kiriko violently nurses Chase, Type Formula goes for a Pit Stop, and Gou pumps iron and gets super jelly. Meanwhile in Ninninger, Kasumi and Yakumo struggle to hold the spotlight as this week's kind-seeming monster hands kids balloons, and we get a visitor from space.
Finally, our topic of the week is the ToQger-Kyoryuger movie, which takes two shows about really abstract concepts that force-feed themselves into tangibility and literally cross the streams, as they fight the villain that was hinted at, at the end of the Kyoryuger series. When two derpy teams collide, the result is a rainbow-colored hilarious disaster.
Required Viewing:
Kamen Rider Drive 23,
Shuriken Sentai Ninninger 5,
Ressha Sentai ToQger VS Jyuden Sentai Kyoryuger THE MOVIE
Paul isn't here this week, but the remaining four Casters get together for an explosive followup to the Dino Charge premiere. Fencing farm boys, exploding automobiles, ice-cold enemies, and more are talked about in detail, then we share our favorite badass moments in Power Rangers history.
Tired of hearing about Super Sentai and Kamen Rider? More of a Power Rangers fan? So are we. Kinda. So Overkill gathered whoever was around and started another show about Power Rangers, right in time for the premiere of Dino Charge!
We mentioned the episode of Castranger where we talked about the Super MegaForce finale - check that out here.
