It's Castranger Episode 50! Completing our trifecta of anniversary episodes (the end of ToQger, our one-year, and now episode 50), we are joined by That Kamen Rider Guy to talk about the final showdown between Drive, Type Formula VS Machine Chaser, featuring the advent of the Trailer-Hou. Yup. Meanwhile in Ninninger, Takaharu learns a lesson about teamwork with the power of oden. Then, because this is an anniversary episode, we go back to our roots and talk about Kamen Rider (Ichigo) Episode 1, and Himitsu Sentai Goranger Episode 1, and wow, 70s, you guys.

Silver, Blue, and Pink Casters say goodbye to North Caster as he heads to China for a few weeks, and what better sendoff than an episode of Dino Charge featuring Chase, Riley, and a toothache monster? I'll tell you what: a few good Power Ranger parodies, some of which we mentioned on a recent Castranger episode! Green Caster doesn't quite make it today, so the rest of us talk about some news about ToQ-7gou in the ToQger Returns special, some details on the Kamen Rider Yongo special. In this week's Drive, we talk about Gen finally seeing both Kamen Riders (and still not connecting them to Tomari) Chaser's powerup, and the cockteasing "debut" of Type Formula. Ninwhile, Nagi of the Ninningers takes his turn to tell us his personality, Gabi Raizou teamkills his way into (some of) our hearts, and Dumpmaru uses Rock Throw. Our feature topic this week is favorite and least favorite henshin device voices.

No, we don't mean Breaking Bad, that's the name of the Dino Charge episode that we discuss that focuses (ha!) on Chase and tells us his origin story in time to get turned evil, then be saved by the power of skateboarding. Then we talk about our favorite and least favorite morphing sequences and why we like and hate them.

The full core team, Silver Caster, North Caster, and our good friend Derek the Bard, aka Bard Caster, all crams into this week's Castranger to talk about the merits of Drive as a Rider in general and some news about Type Formula, Starninger, Kamen Rider Yongo, Shocker's Rider Robo, and the Legacy Blade Blaster, before we talk about the episode. 

 

This week includes Drive being more of a cop drama than ever, forming a bromance between the comedy relief character and a decorative truck that speaks via enka music, and the continuing decline of Shijima Gou's credibility. 

 

The feature of this week in tokusatsu is unarguably the debut of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger. We talk about the family of ninjas with their dad and grandpa as their Zordon/Alpha combo, their mostly uninteresting and thus-far under-developed characters, and the incredibly polarizing discussion on the designs of the zords and megazord, Shurikenjin.
