It's episode 250 and Lane's not here! ...or is he? The remaining Casters are joined by some of our Discord fans over the course of the episode as we discuss Sougo getting de-throned, Canalo dealing with his thirsty yet non-legal sister, and the indescribable marvel of an ancient series that is Toei's Spiderman, er... SUPIDAMAN, sorry.
This week on Castranger the Core four talk about Zi-O battling the power of dead girlfriends, RyusoulGold's debut is marred by his quest for a wife, and then we get uncomfortable watching tween girls try to be mahoshojo phantom thieves.
We appear to have delayed talking about Heisei FOREVER to the perfect week, because the most recent episode of Zi-O was the start of the Den-O arc, so we get to talk about both versions of Another Den-O this week. The Core Four rage and squee at the return of Den-O, Zeronos, and most importantly DENEB! Meanwhile in Ryusoulger we get a weirdly dark episode that reeks of Highlander. Finally, we talk about what happens when Kamen Rider decides to take a page out of Toy Story. Wait, didn't Toy Story 4 just come out??
Castranger's Core Casters convene to complain about the last two weeks' episodes of Rider and Sentai. It's a Double Episode Special! The debut of Woz Ginga squeezes between the disappointing Kiva Arc and the question-raising Kabuto Arc. Meanwhile, Asuna struggles to have a focus episode, and then a quizmaster sets everyone on fire. I know, it sounds stupid without context, doesn't it?
What a whirlwind discussion we have this week. First off, Ichi is entranced by the Kiva arc of Zi-O and the ebut of Kamen Rider Ginga, defiantly so. Next, Ryusoulger has the last straw with its stupid bullshit with this Wonderland episode, and finally, on the heels of last week's Ryuki discussion, we revisit Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Can we really fight the fight?
The Three Castanets harmonize to bring you a whirlwind Pokemon discussion, followed by the actual show, wherein we discuss how Woz Got His Groove Back Again, Kyosuke admits he sucks, and we go right back to nothing in Zi-O making any goddamn sense. Next, in Ryusoulger, the word is saved by a woman's terrible singing. Also Bamba is cool. Finally, we discuss the surprisingly excellent Rider Time Ryuki special. Did this three parter mirror Ryuki's terrible ending into a good ending?!
Finally free of the clutches of Metal April, the newly re-branded SuperIchi, along with the other Core Casters, discuss the first episode of Zi-O's Hibiki arc, featuring an overjubilant Woz, Kamen Rider Kyoki's misbranding, Todoroki being still awesome, and Soup commits a grave sin. Next, we discuss Ryusoulger featuring a hastily broomswept Minusaur attack because who cares? NEW GENERAL! Finally, our topic this week is the three-part Kamen Rider Shinobi special, aka Kamen Rider Naruto. Could this be the beginning of somethng amazing that we won't ever see come to fruition? And what? Ichi's in it?!
It's the last week of Metal April and WOW did Gar serve us up a doozy. But first! Zi-O wraps up its zombie flick arc with Double Trinities across the sky, and Bamba goes stab-happy trying to make sure his brother doesn't die as we get the debut of Five Knights, both in zord and team. Finally, our topic is Kyodai Ken Bycrosser, by far one of the most bizarre toku shows we've come across. Why is it so weird? You'll just have to find out!
Le San Castilleros remain seated to discuss this week's episodes. First off, Zi-O attempts to inject plot relevance, mystery, and superpowers into Soup while the Agito plot gets ghostwritten into a zombie flick. Secondly, Towa shows that he can be the fastest at everything, including character growth, but we care more about Milneedle. Finally, for our third week of Metal April 2, we discuss the Metalder "movie," which was clearly a rejected episode of some sort. Can all the monsters work together to defeat Metalder?!
Finally the thing we are supposed not to know about debuts, and jesusfuck is it atrocious. But forget it because holy shit Kamen Rider Blade's ending becomes the central plot focus in Zi-O, whaaaat?! Also, Ryusoulger continues to make us hopeful yet cautious as Towa and Banba work out the kinks as they integrate into the team. Finally, continuing Metal April 2, we discuss Nebula Mask Machineman, which features Superman references, pointless capes, and KIDNAPPING CHILDREN WHAAAAAT
